It is, unfortunately, more and more common to face strong heat waves in Greece and in particular in the capital of Athens. Athens is a highly populated city as half of the Greek population lives there, nowadays (almost 5 millions). It is also an urban environment, mostly constructed with concrete; so concrete blocks, in combination with the asphalts that streets and big avenues are made of, lead to even more intense phenomena when a heat wave strikes. My idea is a mobile application, in which somebody can be informed by a personal notification of whether a heat wave comes, which is going to be the size of it and the maximum temperature occurs, where are the places with the most increased risk and finally where are located the nearest public spaces that are prepared to provide first aid services or even a refuge to citizens and visitors of Athens.
