Big problem in the city can be safety at night, or at least the sense of it, especially when alone on deserted streets. An app (I called it Nightsafe because it's the first thing that came to mind) could actively log you location and give services like a torch and to quickly make an emergency call if required. The city can benefit by seeing which routes people generally feel unsafe on, and investigate further to alleviate seemingly unsafe areas which people need to use. Sadly it will not log all areas as if unsafe people will likely find alternate routes, but it may paint a picture of specific characters of areas that feel less secure o that in future these can be improved on.
