One of the biggest problems that the citizens of Belo Horizonte face is the lack of knowledge about how to participate in the city’s decision-making processes. Although there are several neighborhood associations and other administration units, most of the citizens don’t know about its existence and feel discouraged to point out the city’s problems and suggest changes. With this in mind, I propose an app that would be free and easy to download. It would work both as an informative and as a “dialogue” instrument. Through this technology, citizens would be able to easily find information about the decision-making processes of the city that have happened, are happening and will happen. They would also be able to directly contact the most appropriated administration unit (local, regional, etc) for each kind of issue they want to discuss.
