My proposal is based on Buenos Aires, a city I have recently lived in for over one year. I am proposing an app that will allow citizens to track public transportation. Meaning, that every bus or metro will be equipped with a GPS device that tracks its current location. Based on that the app will then calculate the time when the public transport will be at your station, an plan your trip accordingly. The background of this app is, that even though the overall network of the public transportation is excellent the buses arrive, due to traffic jams, very irregular. Resulting in a situation that you might me waiting at the station for a long time. With the app it would make it a lot easier for people to plan their trip, and reduce their waiting time at the station.
