Because of the density population (over 20 million people) Mexico City has a lot of problems, ranging from crime and transport to waste disposal management. With the technological advances, I believe the government has an important opportunity to improve the city services. The app that I propose will empower the citizens by allowing them to make suggestions, complains and to vote and comment on any city project that exceeds certain amount of money. With the app the citizens could make suggestions like for example improving the lighting of a street or the creation of pedestrian pathways, and it also will allow them to complain about garbage in sidewalks, the existence of potholes and leaks. The app will also improve the transparency of the government budget regarding city projects, and of course will enrich those projects by the citizens’ feedback.
