According to Sankey Diagram available in IEA website, the dominant fossil fuel in Brazil is Oil, followed by Gas and Coal. The oil is used mainly for transportation purposes and is consistent with the logistics operations, as most of the operations are done by trucks. In order to improve the consumption of energy originated by renewable sources, improving the logistics operations in Brazil is critical. Around 40% of trips made by trucks are done without cargo or below cargo capacity as the freight is planned as a one-way trip. Also, improving other means of transportation such as trains would reduce the demand for trucks driving in the highways.
