The emissions associated to mobile sources represents the 80% of the air pollution of Medellín, being the freight trucks and buses the responsible of the 60% of the contamination due to the bad conditions and the outdated models. Also, the number of particular vehicles has increased 186% in the last 10 years, creating a huge problem of mobility that gets increased by cars parking in prohibited areas. Traffic Eye is a mobile app that allows citizens to report, using geolocation and the camera, vehicles that are bad parked disturbing pedestrians or halting the traffic and buses and trucks which noticeably are over contaminating, breaking the standards allowed. This information can be very useful for the authorities to enforce the rules in real time and make the city more livable. Furthermore, the data collected can be used by architects, engineers and planners for future roads or urban projects.
