The purpose of this app would be to add a social aspect to neighbourhoods – every inhabitant would have access to his/her “neighbourhood app” and be able to see the needs of his neighbours. For example, the old lady living on Bloom street named Mrs. Greenberg might need help to do her food shopping once a week because she is not strong enough to carry her bags by herself – this would then be posted on the app, and people who have extra time, or maybe her next-door neighbours, would offer to do her shopping for her, or maybe just accompany her to carry her bags. Another example could be that a family that cannot afford a professional painter needs help repainting their house and can “hire” teenagers who need a little pocket money to do the job for them. It could also be used to give away furniture or clothes, and share information. This would enable the community to get to know each other better, and bring them closer together.
