1. How would you define livability? Livability means that people are able to live in a place for thier lifetime. But to define livability we need to discuss furture on whether the livability is to who, where and when. For example, the people who live in a slum in indonesia and myanmar, although thier GDP is low, the environment they live in is bad, but they can still survive, they still have food and place to live. In other hand, for developed country like singapore, the needs of livability is far more different, they not just talk about food and place to live, they also discuss on infrastructure, entertainment, education , political economic stability and medical care system. Lastly to define livability of a place its really depends on 2. If you need to define livability with the following terms, how would you rank them? 1) Environment 2) Housing 3) Engagement 4) Tranportation 5) Health 6) Neighborhood 7) Opportunity 3. City Livability Score Customized score Change New York 62 49 13 California 49 40 9 Cleveland 57 51 6 6. I think environment is the most important for livability, but when i customized the term environment at the livable index into highest importance, the total score of all cities went down, this means that, in this livability index, the environment factor is less important for the cities livability. Other terms like transportation and oppornity got a similar score as customized score. The cities need more developed and convenient transportation, working opportunity to make thier city more livable.
