This is a picture of São Paulo city (just a partial area of the city), one of the most populous of the world, having around 12M only in São Paulo area and 20M people in the greater area. The three stock and flows that I will mention are: people, capital and energy. PEOPLE: due to the quantity of companies, people see São Paulo as the city of opportunities, so a lot of people from other states come to São Paulo, most of them are in the range of 25 to 60 year-old. It was estimated that 40% of the population are from other states, being the Northeast and Southern regions the areas which contributes more with the migration. CAPITAL: due to business activities, São Paulo attracts a lot of investments and attention of foreign companies, stablishing offices and facilities in the city to leverage business. In 2015, USD 75 billions of investment came from other countries to the industries of Oil and Gas, Biofuels, automotive segments, metal and chemicals. Also, stock market influences significantly the flow of capital, as São Paulo has the most developed financial market of Brazil, with inumerous financial institutions and broker companies to trade massive amount of investments. ENERGY: Brazil relies on renewable energy to source the major cities, being the hydropower the main source of energy, being followed by thermo power (Natural Gas and Coal) and nuclear energy. As most of the energy is originated in hydropower plants installed in rivers, the energy is produced far from urban centers and needs to be transported through grids of electrical network. Nowadays, companies are planning to invest in different sources of energy such as biomass and solar, which will change the flow of energy in the future.
