I stumbled on this building when I found out about it's award through RIBA. This is an apartment block with a brick exterior but on the inside from head to toe, fully made with cross-laminated timber and another covered by any other materials. Timber is a material very much imported to the UK, even though they grow it themselves as well. But most likely due to costs and its political connection, the UK imports a super majority (>66%) of its timber from the EU. With the advent of Brexit, there's nothing more important than what this building signifies in a globalised economy.
