1. Which are your top livability criteria? In the list below, you can find (in alphabetical order) some of the livability criteria that official surveys use to determine the livability of a city. Currently I live in Bogotá the capital city of Colombia. I live in a beautiful neighborhood called Usaquen, that in the past was a little town near the city. Reasons to live here: -My family and friends live near by. -The place where I live is sorrounded by trees and nature, it is quiet and peaceful. -The cinema, restaurants, gyms and others facilities are 5 minutes drive-away. -Good infrastructure such as streets sidewalk and parks with lighting. -Safety, the neighborhood is in constant surveillance. 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? What would you change? As mayor of the city of Bogotá the first measure I would take to improve livability would be reinforce the neighborhood category, which is improving access for life work and play. This would create good environments for the people and the communities would feel safer and united. Afterwards I would improve housing and transportation, this would definitely improve the Bogota´s Livability. 5. Why do we move? The first option would be Medellin which is the second biggest city of Colombia. Is a beautiful city with a wonderful weather. Currently the city is having a lot of changes, there have been an important concern to improve the livability of the city. Medellin is improving the housing in affordability and access. The transportation is having mayor advances, the city already have bus system, metro and the inovative Metro Cable, they just inaugurate the tram. Infraestructure is a mayor concern, they belive that public spaces can raise the community realtionships. The mayors have build different libraries and cultural centers around the city in different neighborhoods to create bonds between the people and the city. New York is the next option. This is a big city where a lot of different cultures and types of people live along. This city transform the last years. The access to work and life is posible to any resident, as well as the afordability. This city have all kind of options in transportation, like bus, metro or taxi, or bycicle and walking. The city is design for the pedestrians. New York have a really good infraestructura that is improving everyday, the beautiful sidewalks and parks where you can rest for a while. The environmment and culture give life to this city, with a great ammount of activities that happen every time of the day. Finally, the third city would be Barcelona in Spain. This city is located in the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Is a city that have all kind of housing, with good accessibility and afordability. Is a city with a very cleared urban plan, the streets and sidewalk are in perfect conditions, the city is design for the public transportation. The environment great, with clear air and public spaces. It is one ofe the most cultural cities in the world, where you can find different activities to do everyday.
