Nearly all building materials on this site are an example of the globalized economy. It´s true that the Canary Islands is part of Spain it has neglected it´s own construction methods for 2 reasons: On one hand the limited natural resources the islands have and second and the second economy of scales. Fuel in recent years has come down in price so it has become cheaper to import. Another defining factor however is standardization and building regulations.
