Amsterdam, Holland Step 2: Five Characteristics That Make A City Livable According To Me: 1. Safety: I think the citizens feel safe and shouldn't be afraid of the dangers in a city 2. Health: Healthy life opportunities such as sport centers or bicycle road is important as much as the health politics of the city including hospitals etc. 3. Education: The city should be able to give all its citizens the opportunity to get a good education. 4. Infrastructure: The infrastructure is one of the most important demands in urban life 5. International Connectivity: In today's globalized world international connectivity has a great significance for a peaceful life in a city. Negative attitudes such as racism or xenophobia should be as less as possible.7 Step 3: Describing Istanbul In Aspects of Characteristics That Listed Above: 1. Istanbul has as a upsetting fact a high criminal rate. The safety in streets of Istanbul should be provided, and in my opinion the best way to do that increasing the education opportunities. 2. Due to its constant growth health opportunities such as care in hospitals could sometimes be inaduquate. In order to get over it more hospitals should be opened and more health professionals should be educated such as doctors, nurses etc. 3. Since Istanbul is the biggest city in Turkey, it is really rich in point of education. However due to its fast and constant growth, as mentioned before, the primary education opportunities are sometimes not enough. The city needs more primary schools and teachers, for sure. 4. Infrastructure: In later built districts of Istanbul, the infrastructure problems are less reported. That shows that old settlement fields need a city renovation, of course by paying attention to the historical sight of the city. 5. International Connectivity: In Istanbul it is possible to meet people from every nationality and every religion. Maybe the best part of the city is the fact that all people are treated with respect without caring about their nationality or religion. All people are welcome as long as they also respect citizen's culture and life style.
