Dams are the type of water infrastructure on which we are highly dependent in today's world.Their are numerous benefits of building a dam on the river.By building a dam,we ensure that water of the river do not get wasted and we use it efficiently for our daily needs. This is the picture of sardar sarovar dam built on Narmada river in Gujarat. It is the largest dam to be built under the Narmada valley project.The project has potential to feed as many as 20 million people and provide water to as many as 30 million population.It provides electricity and employment to about 1 million people.It also provides water for irrigation.
