Most liveable cities that I know: 1) Seattle - USA 2) Curitiba - Brazil 3) Florianópolis - Brazil 4) Cape Town - South Africa 5) Gramado - Brazil Top 5 characteristics that make a city liveable: 1) Safety 2) Hygiene & Health 3) Environment (built and natural) 4) Culture & People interaction 5) Work and education opportunities How livable is Belo Horizonte and how could it improve: Violence in Belo Horizonte is a problem that greatly decrease the city’s livealbility. That could be changed mainly through fighting social inequality. The city’s appearance and the built environment are good in few portions of the city, but for the most part, the public space could be greatly improved with urban design. On the other hand, Belo Horizonte doesn’t have big problems in the health area, it has good cultural places that brings people together and have plenty of work and education opportunities. Improving the safety and the built environment, the city would become greatly livable and attractive to people.
