My realized idea concerned the urban space project in Gorzow Wielkopolski. The project of reconstruction of the Unknown Soldier Square in Gorzow Wielkopolski was carried out taking into account the process of participation. The aim of the process was to involve residents in the design of public space in Gorzow. Organization of participatory activities lay on my side. We have planned a series of informational and workshop meetings including study walks to learn as much as possible about the conditions and needs of the area to be explored, but also to get to know the people and their emotions. An informational meeting - the process began with an open discussion about the functioning of the pedestrian zone and the square of the Unknown Soldier. Essential elements of the function of this space of the city that were subject to discussion were, among others. Traffic of cars and trams and the issue of their coexistence with pedestrian traffic on the boardwalk. On the other hand, the plot was an important thread for its better use; Research walks - their purpose was to diagnose barriers and spatial problems observed by residents and users, promote workshop meetings, study stakeholder groups and their expectations. There were three walks in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening. About 10 people of different ages took part in each; Project Workshops - more than a dozen people took part in them, discussing the necessary solutions and priorities. To make it easier to talk about space, we also organized a model street section to test the postulates so far. The postulates developed with the inhabitants became the basis for further design work. Thanks to conversations with users of this public space, we have acquired knowledge that we would not find in any guide. One such valuable postulate was the mines of space for the Gypsies living in the vicinity of the Gorzów community.
