The industrial estate in Chandrapur engages the majority of the city population and is one of the largest in the state of Maharashtra, India. The factories ranges from PVC pipes production units to thermal electricity power plants. Once a small town with agriculture and dairy farming as major income source has now transformed due to the advancements in technology. These advancements have attracted people from all over the country, the population which was before engaged in farming are now majorly dependent on industries for livelihood. The advancements have not only transformed the existing population in terms of occupation, lifestyle but has also created a whole new class of people which are now associated with the city only due to industries(population increase). The system of the city-(business, expenditure, services) is solely characterized by the industries which is an result of the technological advancements.
