This photo is taken in the Sheffield city centre and it depicts the overlapping tram lines. Besides the bus system, the tram is the only other available public transportation system and it is heavily used by people, mainly because it connects the city to the shopping area in the outskirts of the town, which is one of the biggest in the UK (plenty of jobs). However, the tram system is not as developed as the bus one for example and it needs many more routes to fully cover the main areas of the city. There are constantly projects to improve the quality of the rails and in the past 3 years I've seen working sites along the lines in different parts of the city. There's even a festival once a year and it's called "Tramlines", where different activities (mainly concerts) happen at sites around the tram stops. As Sheffield has been developing its surface area quite fast , improving the tram system is a must and hopefully it will be done by running it with clean energy.
