1. The most Important Stocks and flows entering to the city of Delhi are- • Vegetables • Milk and its products • Water 2. Since Delhi is a densely populated urban area, most of the population is engaged in IT sectors, factories, offices and other white collar professions. Crop Farming and Dairy Farming is done in the rural outskirts of Delhi and then the products are made available for the metropolis. Further, Delhi is located at the banks of river Yamuna, hence all the water requirement of the city is fulfilled through the same. The stock and flows in the form of Water, Vegetables, Milk and its products are the backbone for the city. They are imported - stocked - consumed and then flows out of the city as waste. 3. If these stock and flows (water, vegetables, milk and its products) are used with judicious approach may change the future of the city for supreme benefit of the area. For example, in case of vegetables and milk products, if we know the frequency and amount of the import to the city, we may develop stocks for the same to help in crisis. The stock needs to be flowed at regular intervals to avoid decaying. The amount of stock and flow can be calculated by the population and its routine and therefore the wastage could be avoided by limiting the import. Water as a resource is very vital, hence there should be a holistic approach in its use and management. By knowing the amount of water that flows through the city, we can modify the laws for a judicious proposal. Further the waste water can be treated and the reclaimed water may be used for sustainability of the city.
