At work we just started a development on the base of citizen design science (www.neugasse-zuerich.ch). A very new way for the company of developing an area for residential and public services. With flyers and internet calls we tried to reach as much interested inhabitants from Zurich but as well from the outskirt to participate actively in the development. The slogan was “take part and shape: expand together a part of the city”. The area is in the very center of Zurich, next to the train tracks. In 5 workshops we try to get the best results in close co-working with the inhabitants, experts, planners and the authorities of Zurich. The results from the workshops are presented on the internet. The inputs from the inhabitants give us very crucial information, how they see their city. This process takes about one year. Based on the results from the workshop there will be afterwards a public competition for architects and planners to develop the ideas further.
