FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 3: "Factors of Livability"
Uploaded on 2017-06-23 by Henrik Caroe
In my opinion, amongst the places I have visited I would say the most livable places would have to be, Denmark, Iceland, England, Croatia, and Italy. My five characteristics that make a place livable would have to be, job opportunities, crime rate, happiness, traffic, and Pollution. My reasoning behind these choices in order is job opportunities because without a job you have nothing and the more potential to get a job the better. Crime rate because of the lesser amount of crime the better place to raise children and create a family. Happiness because what enjoyment of life is there without being happy and enjoying life. Traffic because as you can see in places like New York and San Francisco to much traffic makes people angry and that build up of anger is not what people need in life. Lastly, pollution because it affects people's idea of the city like people dislike Los Angeles because of pollution. I live in Marin County which is a relatively unknown area about half an hour south of San Francisco. Life is fairly happy in Marin including these 5 characteristics. There are many opportunities for work from low salary to high. There is a low crime rate which in turn makes people happy and enjoy life. There is traffic at certain times of day similar to almost any city, and there is very little pollution which is affected by a number of people driving electric cars.
