1. Which are your top livability criteria? My livability criteria are: 1. Environment 2. Education 3. Culture 4. Economy 5. Transportation 2. Why do we live where we live? I live in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Here are some reason why I live here. 1st Cultural tie, I was born and raised here and I speak in Mongolian so culturally there is no other place that offer these cultural similarities. 2nd As a capital city the political freedom we can enjoy is higher compared . Mongolia is democratic and non-religious country so the citizens have a rights to express opinions in many ways 3rd It's easy to get to into the nature within 20-30km to any direction we can get into vast steppe of wild nature. 4th It has a international food cuisine. Even it is a small city, it offers wide range of tastes of a food and cuisine choices. . 5th Safety, geographically the country has no visible danger of nature such as tsunami, hurricane. 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? 1 Environment (30/100) 2 Education (30/100) 3 Culture(50/100) 4 Economy(40/100) 5Transportation (40/100) General score: 35 out of 100 4. What would you change? If I were a mayor of Ulaanbaatar, First, I would immediately renew the building and technology of wastewater processing center. In the past, because of exceeding the capacity , the center had to stream some of wastes into one the Tuul river without processing. It is very concerning problem to the ecosystem and to the city. Second, I would like to ban coal burning in household uses. In densely crowded ger districts, majority of the people burns coal in furnace to heat the house and to cook. As a result ,the air quality in winter month reaches beyond hazardous level. Instead, people should use electricity or renewable energy alternatives.o Third , I would introduce new policy to garbage processing, so that people classify the garbages into recyclable and non-recyclable categories. Currently, 98% of all kind of litters of the city ends up in landfill. Fourth, I want to build more recreational areas. It seems that buildings are built quite closely without green areas .I feel that the city and citizens are in need of public green space. A parks that designed to relaxing, playing and walking should be in every districts of the city. Fifth, I want to build bike tracks and to ensure the city is safe to ride a bike. Also as a mayor I want to allow only electric buses in the cities. Currently, the buses that running here in services are already out of services many years ago in Korea and they often result high CO2 emission. I believe that all these steps if taken scrupulously, the livability of our city will significantly improve. 5. Why do we move? Mountain view, CA, USA ( business opportunity, friendly environment, good education, tech culture, mild humid climate) Montreal, Quebec, Canada(appealing environment, good health care, safety, political stability, economy) Tokyo, Japan ( culture, economy, safety, education, environment)
