Millions are using Moscow subway every day. This piece of transport infrastructure is so vital, sociologists even observe citizens' distorted perception of the space of Moscow. They note that because people are mostly passing geographical distance by the underground train, they often poorly ever know how the city looks on surface (in its most part). Hence, if one day the subway shuts down, passengers will be confused navigating on ground. Another illustration of the metro significance is Stalin's order to decorate the stations in grandiose style. The users of this infrastructure should be reminded day to day of the greatness of the communist state.
