Answers: 1. In my nation there are a lot of smart city proposals undergoing that have been selected by public voting and the areas that have gained maximum votes, those regions of the city are selected for up gradation and thus making them more livable as per the problems faced by the citizens. This initiative of our honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has been successfully ongoing via mygov.in online website of Government of India started specifically for this purpose. 2. If I am working for the local government and want to solve this problem through improvement of the public spaces. I shall focus to treat the built environment as an inherent part of its surrounding natural ambience with the help of involving citizens of that neighborhood to enable surveillance free environment. The citizens could tell the prone time slots when crime happens so that vigilance is initiated. The other problems faced by the people due to the gated enclaves could be brought further for better re-designing of the built environment so that extension of personalization of the spaces outside the residences is undertaken. The buildings shouldn’t be treated as lifeless masses but instead, as living beings interacting with each other and also with the streets they share. Just as Human beings can’t survive in isolation and are much more prone to attacks by external and internal forces, buildings too cannot withstand the isolated environment. They also need love and nurturing by their parent that is the street in order to be protected from various types of crime. Hence this healthy relationship shall guard both parent and children that are streets and the buildings which are the integral elements of an urban space. 3.
