1. Which are your top livability criteria? Health Care Environment Transportation Infrastructure Job Opportunities 2. Why do we live where we live? I moved to Joinville, Brazil has been three years. I used to live in Curitiba, Brazil which is my hometown. The main reason was a job opportunity directly in my area - Geography. And here are my four other reason for moving to Joinville: Mobility: I live to 2 kilometers distance of my job location. I go to my work everyday walking. That brought me some benefits: daily exercises, no dealing with traffic jams, better quality of live, more livability; Short distance to my hometown: I still have all my family and mostly of my friends living in Curitiba. And it’s only 2 hours long by bus of distance between Joinville and Curitiba. This certainly was a plus when I decided to move; Environment: there is a lot of hills in Joinville that were environmentally preserved that are covered by rainforests. Some of them had become parks and you can visit. Also, Joinville has a lot of rivers and waterfalls where you can even take baths; Gastronomy/ beverages: there are very good restaurants, bars and breweries at Joinville. Regularly there are some events promoted by those places, which is also a big attraction. 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? Health Care: 60 Environment: 65 Transportation: 45 Infrastructure: 40 Job Opportunities: 70 Average: 56 4. What would you change? If I were the mayor, I would search for partnerships/ investors to achieve 100% of sewage treatment at Joinville. Side by side with the evolution of the sewage treatment, I would invest severally on cleaning the urban rivers and recovering theirs riparian forests, creating linear parks. As a third measure, I would promote the use of public transportation by improving the exclusive bus lanes, and also the alternative transports: bicycle, walking, new technologies of sharing vehicles. 5. Why do we move? 1-Curitiba, Brazil 2-Florianópolis, Brazil 3-Maringá, Brazil Five qualities of the three places quoted above: Environment Transportation Culture Infrastructure Job Opportunities
