Empire State Building The Empire State Building located in New York City is one of the most recognized pieces of architecture in the United States. Being made mainly with Steel as its primary material, we can recognize how the steel industry is one of the ones with the biggest trade deficit. What this means is that the materials being used for this recognized building are being imported in high quantities. The steel industries trade deficit in the U.S is notable, and it is also to be observed that the steel being imported has an 81% of importees from 10 main course countries. The countries that import the most to the U.S on steel are: Canada, Brazil, South Korea, Mexico, Turkey, Japan, Russia, etc... Observing the big numbers of imported materials from this countries we can determine that at its construction date in the 1920´s - 30´s there is a certainty that the steel being used for the structure of the building were imported from the previously mentioned countries. The presence of a globalized economy in this case stands out due to the fact that we can observe an immensely important building for the U.S being created from materials that are not of U.S common use. With this we can also observe the presence of a mutually globalized idealism by these countries since the U.S is also a big importer to the countries mentioned. Having a comprehensive trade by this countries allows for the beneficial aid between countries and their lack of materials such as steel in this case. Having a building from approximately 80 years ago possess this kind of material shows the constant interest of countries to import and export for its economical values.
