1. Dusseldorf, Germany One of five German cities to make the top 20. "Art is big in Dusseldorf," says Simon Horsford. "With more than 100 galleries and 26 museums, a renowned opera house and cutting-edge architecture, this chic and fashion-conscious city by the Rhine patently loves its culture - and its beer," says Simon Horsford. "It's a bonus that it's also a city where everything is within comparatively easy reach, with most of its attractions accessible on foot or by bicycle, often via its many landscaped parks.2. Vienna, Austria "A city that charms and seduces from scratch, but even more the longer you stay," reckons Diane Naar-Elphee. "Whether for fast-track travel or slow-paced sightseeing, and regardless of how many times you've been before, there's a seemingly never-ending wealth of things to do and see throughout the year. It's also both culturally and musically one of the richest cities in the world, and has a good, lively mix of cool cafés and bars, galleries, shops and street markets." 3. Pescara. Pescara, the gateway to the rugged mountainous in the Abruzzo region, is framed by the stunning snowy peaks of the Apennine Mountains. The land tumbles through the hilltop villages and down to the blue waters of the Adriatic Ocean. In the town of Pescara itself, the long ten-mile stretches of wide, clean and sandy beaches and superb food and wine explain why it is a favourite vacation getaway among Italian travelers seeking to enjoy both beach-side relaxation and mountain adventures.4 Paris. Paris is commonly known as the city of love. But why do people love this city and what makes it so livable? Is it for the food, the shops or is it because of the attractions available. That is what we will find out. Due to melbourne being rated the most livable city, we thought we would compare the two. The layout in Paris is very different to many other modern cities. While many cities now a days have all different heights and sizes, many of Paris' buildings are similar. There was a rule in Paris several years ago saying that no building could be above a certain height thus making all of them around the same height. Just recently however some sky scrapers have been built in the industrial area of Paris, La Defence, including an enormous grande arch. This is directly in line with the arc de triomphe and the petite arch. the grande arch however is very different to both the petite and arc de triomphe as it is actually an office building. 5 Nafplio Nafplio is a seaport town in the Peloponnese in Greece that has expanded up the hillsides near the north end of the Argolic Gulf. The town was an important seaport held under a succession of royal houses in the Middle Ages as part of the lordship of Argos and Nauplia, held initially by the de la Roche following the Fourth Crusade and then by Aragonese nobility, before coming under the Republic of Venice and, lastly, the Ottoman Empire. The town was the capital of the First Hellenic Republic and of the Kingdom of Greece, from the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821 until 1834. Nafplio is now the capital of the regional unit of Argolis.
