I took this picture in July 2015, this view of Toronto shows the evolution of the constructions materials. The image shows the old city hall built in 1890, built mostly out of Credit Valley Stone, this local stone has been a traditional building product in the province and was used to build some of the most iconic residences and public buildings in Toronto. The city goes from -25 Celsius degrees in winter to 35 degrees in summer, the use of local wood and stone was a common practice. The globalization has taken place in this city and High office and apartment buildings have been added to the landscape. Most of the modern buildings are made with concrete structures and glass facades. This materials have less thermic isolation properties and generate higher heating and cooling energy consumption.
