Photo taken at landvetter airport outside of Gothenburg. The image shows the importance of electricity in a urban transportation environment. Energy is used to light up the walk and driveways, signs that show important information like when flights arrive and leave and lead the way for your destination. Without energy to light up these places we cant navigate as well because we need light to see. Lights can also show where important enterences is, or where to go. If these lights dident exist we would still be walking around with fire. The information on screens for exampble is crucial in many situations. If this information dident exist and shown in an easy way, we would still walk to the information box to stand in line just to ask a question. Signs in these cases are the most important when people need to navigate and do so in a short time. The importance of energy usage in this photo is strictly outside of the airport, althought theres more usage inside the airport in forms like esculators, automatic bands, screens, computers, automatic door openers, signal towers etc. In the future these electronic devices will be even more functional and more scientific technologies will helps us navigate our surroundings. One important thing about light is to build them so the light is aimed down and not up, since this would create air pollution (in form of light), making it harder to see the stars and not focusing the light on whats important. Signs would become even smarter to be able to give us more information and more quickly than today. The electricity powering this place would be more environmental in the future when more scientific technologies enhances our current technologies. These "powerplants" that produce electricity from the sun, water or wind etc would be cheaper and more efficient, it will be common use.
