Propose how your city should/could be transformed in relation to these characteristics in order to be more sustainable. The city where I presently live is Bengaluru, India. In terms of the five characteristics here is my raking of Bengaluru 1) Traffic - Very poor, the city is stranded with long traffic snarls leading to hours wasted in idle traffic and frustration to cities. Steps to improve will include speeding up the metro rail network across the city, enforcing strict traffic rules, using more technology to manage traffic 2) Pollution - Air pollution is high and noise pollution is definitely an issue. Air pollution can be substantially improved with more effective clean public transportation and also better waste management 3)Water - Access to clean drinking water is becoming an issue, with the rapid growth of city and mushrooming population. Strict enforcement and control to ensure the lakes within the city are not dumped with industrial and construction waste and lakes are not converted to land. 4)Education - The city has many good and high quality educational options, however the issue is the rising cost of education. More governmental intervention to control the escalation education costs. 5)Public Safety - Public safety has certainly improved and the police force is using technology to ensure the same.
