1. An existing Citizen Design Science project in urban design and planning in my neighborhood is a collective op people living in the same street in my neighborhood who took over a street. The government and planners were trying to force them out and make way for new development, but they managed to come to an agreement and buy all properties collectively. This way the urban design of the street turned a different way. By collecting data and arguments for preservation, also the scientific factor helped them win the court case. 2. First the dark areas in the neighborhood could be mapped, and the routes people are taking could also be mapped. This would be a combination of a ‘scientific’ and inclusive way to find out where new street lights should be installed. The inhabitants could deliver their input via a mobile app tracking their location at night, sharing this with the municipality after a month or so. 3. Guidelines should be that every participant is using the same method and/or software for data collection. There should be one platform to collect all data.
