FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"

This photo is taken in Istanbul's one of the most peaceful districts Küçükyalı. The photo shows the public park in the center of the district. There are commercial units at the right and health facility at the left. The park is a place where people (especially middle aged and old people) can get rest, sit and have conversation. The park's components consist of trees, flowers, pedestrian roads, sitting benches and walls. The park provides a green, isolated transition and also entrance between the southern side of the district and the inner side of the district. One of the two invisible informations is that the park is neighbouring a main road for motor vehicles, this factor reduces the green impact of the park and peaceful environment. The second of the two invisible information is the area is mostly used by middle aged and old aged people. This requires the park to be more more resilent space. The invisible information that I have selected is the first one. The factor of roads' reducing the green impact of green areas is viable not only for this district but also all of the settlements that have roads for motor vehicles. I think we are in an era that green solutions to cities must be applied as much as possible. This includes the transition of roads into green roads that support vehicles which work with renewable energy. At the same direction, the number of pedestrian and roads must be increased.
