List the five most liveable cities that you know, based on your own experience and judgment, placing the most liveable city at the top of the list: Based on my 25 years age experience and knowledge as I am originally from Syria Living between Dubai and Germany (Europe & The Middle East) I have build a kind of a personal list regarding the most liveable cities. On the Top of The List comes Tokyo (Japan), Followed by Shanghai (China) and Berlin, Vienna, Dubai, Respectively. Step 2: Describe in your own words five characteristics that according to your opinion make a city livable. Order them placing the most important at the top of the list: 1. Job Opportunities and Good high salaries compared to city expenses, which generates Social Security. 2. Safety and low crime rate. 3. Cool Climate that facilitates human activities. 4. Good Urban Planning and city infrastructure. Applies to this point Good Transportation connection. 5. Covered health Insurance and Education. Step 3: Describe the status of your own city in terms of the five characteristics that you listed above. Propose how your city should/could be transformed in relation to these characteristics in order to be more sustainable. Generally in Arab Countries nowadays the social security and safety are missing due to the current Political situation in the region. However, as am partly living in Dubai nowadays, I can notice the enormous efforts into converting the city into a sustainable one. Meanwhile, the city lacks for more than 6 months the cool weather from March to November. As the city challenges the hot humid weather for a long time in the year; this point stand as a barrier and a challenging points in term of transportation connectivity, architecture and energy consumption.
