1. Which are your top livability criteria? Environment Infrastructure Safety Housing Transportation 2. Why do we live where we live? I live in Tomsk, Russia. It is located at the geographical center of Russia. I live there because: it is a nice old city, not very big city with a crowd of people; this is a smart city with developed infrastructure; there is an enabling environment; there is my house; my family and me have all opportunities for self-development and self-actualization there. Tomsk is a city of universities. There are 6 universities. About 30 % of population in Tomsk are associated with science and education. 3. To what extend does your own place of residence fulfill your ideal livability criteria? Environment 60 Infrastructure 80 Safety 90 Housing 80 Transportation 70 A general livability score is 80 4. What would you change? First of all I’d like to improve an environment. A lot of territory is occupied by waste. It is necessary to organize separate collection of waste and provide recycling of paper, plastic, glass and other waste. Secondly, it is necessary to provide energy saving in homes and on the streets, using energy efficient technologies and devices. The saved energy can be spent on lighting of all streets and not just in the city center. Third, I would have organized Parking for vehicles, especially near the administrative buildings and shops. Fourth, I understand that the city of the future must be a smart city, and actively introduce smart technologies in the urban economy, infrastructure, etc. 5. Why do we move? If I decide to change a place of residence (what is unlikely), I would select one of this cities: 1. Saint Petersburg (Russia) 2. Kaliningrad (Russia) 3. Prague (Chez Republic) The reasons are: Saint Petersburg is a city of my youth, I studied there and there I met my future husband. Five characteristics of Saint Petersburg as a livable city: 1. a very beautiful city with an unique cultural heritage, 2. infrastructure in developed, including social infrastructure and transport, 3. intelligent society, 4. great opportunities for human development, 5. this is the second capital of Russia with developed institutions and business. Kaliningrad is the most Western Russian city. 1. this city is integrated into the European community, 2. you can go to any European country, because it is too close, 3. there are European values and culture, 4. mild climate, 5. great opportunities for human development. Prague is a capital of Chez Republic 1. it is a beautiful city, 2. mild climate, 3.developed infrastructure, including transportation, 4. fast communication with any European country, 5. a lot of cultural heritage.
