This photo was taken in Quezon City, Philippines, depicting a pedestrian overpass that links 2 different shopping complexes. Pedestrians going in and out into the two malls originally crossed the highway, a major thoroughfare, with a traffic enforcer administering the crossing. Eventually, the volume of pedestrians increased, causing heavy traffic in the area as they crossed frequently. This prompted the mall owners to construct a pedestrian overpass linking the two complexes. With the pedestrian overpass, vehicles can now pass continuously and at the same time, pedestrian experience is also enhanced through a wide, covered walk, making this piece of infrastructure a valuable asset not just to the malls, but to the community as well.
