1. Livability is a relative term that even though was not defined recently, it is relevant in today's world. It can be customised to individual preferences and it might be correlated to income and better jobs (in developing countries) or health and education (in developed countries). In an urban context, I see livability as the connection point between citizens and sustainable technologies applied to buildings & cities. 2. Neighbourhood, opportunity, engagement, transportation, health, housing, environment. 3 & 4 & 5. New York: livability score: 62; customised livability score: 82; change: +20. Seattle: livability score: 63; customised livability score: 70; change: +7. Chicago: livability score: 53; customised livability score: 72; change: +19. 6. Neighbourhood is top of the list for me. When I customised the livability score, the total went up because neighbourhoods/districts are compact, personal safety is high and access to various destinations (work places, public spaces, shopping centres) is facilitated.
