The Sydney Harbour Bridge was built in the 1930's. All of the steel used in its construction was produced and fabricated about as far away from Sydney as is possible to get, in England. Today in Australia, despite a viable steel industry using local iron ore and coal - Australia imports most of its steel from Asia. The photo shows a local (Wollongong) stadium built using Chinese steel despite a local steel industry in the same location, only about 2kms away.
