In this suburban neighborhood in Mullica Hill, New Jersey, you can see multiple houses, empty roads, and open front yards with huge amounts of trees and forests surrounding the area. You can make visible the fact that there is barely any traffic on these roads, coming only from the residents of the houses in the picture. The open yards next to the roads shows that people can do their activities in the yards and in the roads without needing fences or having to worry about oncoming traffic. The dense tree line in the background shows the close proximity to nature and other ecosystems right outside of the homes. We can use this information to create knowledge about ecosystems, which can then be translated to smart and safe ways to expand the living space without harming the organisms and ecosystems that exist right next to us.
