2.Think and comment on the following example: Habitats of a certain neighborhood don’t feel safe when they walk in their neighborhood in the evening and during the night. You are working for the local government and want to solve this problem through improvement of the public spaces. How would you start-up a Citizen Design Science project? I would suggest these steps: 1.Draw residents' attention to the subject and convince them about the necessity of taking actions. This could come true through introduction gatherings in which the problem is clarified and people are asked to talk about it and share their experiences.Successful instances worldwide are represented in which urban design has improved neighborhood safety. 2.Collecting data. After the warm up in step one, now the community is ready to cooperate. To save time and improve efficiency there should be some representatives chosen by people, preferably those more trusted, educated and experienced.Data then could be collected through questionnaires, interviews, photos and so on.The data includes problem-solution parts like the factors leading to dis safety, the places in which people feel unsafe most and also the environment they feel more convenient and secure,etc.. 3. Analyzing data and share it with local government. 4.Asking experts of the government to design based on the results. 5.Peoples' attendance once again to implement the design solutions as to establish changes in individual houses like designing front yards or to manage parts of construction phases.
