a. Provisioning services Over 50 per cent of NSW vegetables are grown in the Murray-Darling and Murrumbidgee regions which is in the interior of southeastern Australia. There is a network called Peri Urban Network (SPUN) which represents twelve Councils that border metropolitan Sydney. Their Peri Urban agriculture is one of the ecosystem services which aims to create sustainable balanced growth and protection of agriculture. Peri-urban agriculture is responsible for almost 25% of the total value of agricultural production in Australia (Houston, 2005) and it plays an important role in protecting food security, responding to climate change, sustaining livelihoods and insulating against significant price rises. Local food systems in cities have also had a lot of environmental benefits such as improving quality and reducing spoilage, Local employment for farmers and food processors, and urban heat mitigation. Also if you walk in residential suburbs you can often find small firming which locals can use soils and plant vegetables in a patches. Local firming is definitely beneficial for creating green and friendly community and environment. b. Regulating services In Sydney we have 44,000 trees on our streets, parks and City properties and The City of Sydney has planted 11,742 trees since 2005. There is a big park called Prince Alfred park near my work and there are some newly planted trees around park. The city of Sydney is targeting to increase the urban canopy up to 50% by 2030 and they gave away 1,000 trees to local residents on April 2017 at Sydney Park. Plants provide food and shelter for Australia’s unique wildlife and create healthy landscapes for people to live and work in. c. Habitat or Supporting services In Sydney Wherever you go like beach, forests, bushes, and lakes I can find endangered spices lists which shows what sort of animals and spices live in that area. Sydney Olympic Park supports a rich natural environment that includes over 250 native animal species, over 400 native plant species and three endangered ecological communities. They have a environment guidelines which includes, implement adaptive habitat management, maintain the landscape of the ‘natural’ areas of the parklands, restore and improve degraded and depauperate habitats, manage pest fauna species, monitor and report ecological health, coordinate community participation in environmental programs. d. Cultural services Sydney has cafe culture and everyone goes to cafe to have a coffee and breakfast on weekdays and weekends, probably 1-3 times a day. In cafe, you can find different brochures and leaflet about meditation classes for spiritual practices, arts, community sorts club, and all kind of cultural activities. We have a lighting and music festival "Vivid" all over Sydney which is going to be the 9th in this year. Vivid Sydney was also voted Australia’s Best Event in 2013 and Best Tourism Event in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Especially in Sydney, tourism is one of the most important economic sources and this amazing landscape and nature in Australia attract many tourist every year, ecotourism is also important role in their economy and also for visitors to experience and learn about nature. <Reference> http://www.wollondilly.nsw.gov.au/planning-and-development/growth-in-wollondilly/sydney-peri-uban-network-spun/ http://www.sydneyfoodfutures.net/benefits-of-peri-urban-farming/environmental-benefits/ http://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0008/156527/8945_FA3_Tourism_Action_Plan_A4_UPDATE-Final-Low.pdf https://www.ecotourism.org.au/
