Amsterdam's use of it's legendary canals is an urban legend. The canals heavily affect the architecture and territorial planning of the city, it's buildings, streets, bicycle paths, roads and public open spaces. Software integration is also an aspect of the water canals, to measure various characteristics such as depth and cleanliness, and to use software for mapping the canals.
