In 2005, the construction of the new Four Bears bridge was completed. The materials required for the bridge, as well as the majority of the builders were imported to North Dakota for the project. The picture is taken from the top of the 500 foot butte, Crow Flies High, on the North side of Highway 23. The new Four Bears bridge, constructed out of modern materials, replaced the old truss bridge, which also carried the telephone wires across the Missouri river. Today the wires are all threaded underneath the river bed.
