In Abu Dhabi the stocks and flows are basically as follows- 1. Density 2. People 3. Food Density- Density is a stock in Abu Dhabi. But it has also changed a lot during the past decade. This again is dependent on another flow that is the people as is explained in the following point. People- The population of native people of Abu Dhabi is much less in proportion to the number of immigrants/expatriates in the city. Since the city provides much in the form of job opportunities and good living conditions, there is a constant flow of people in and out of the city. This in turn affects the density. Food- Being a dessert area surrounded by sea, farming on large scale is not possible by natural means here. Although technology has made it possible to cultivate farms here, the major part if food is imported here through the sea and it leaves the city in the form of waste.
