Karaj,the city where I live, benefits from a considerable variety of ecosystem services, although some of these services are not used and maintened in an appropriate way. Karaj is located in southern outskirts of Alborz Mountain Range,an area with cold semi-arid climate. So the city's geographical and climatic situation has provided it with some valuble ecosystem services among which are: a.Provisioning services: water supply of Amirkabir Dam on Karaj River, and abundance of fruits and vegetables fromn local gardens, b.Regulating services: Chitgar Forest Park and National Botanical Garden with a great variety of trees and plants c.Habitat or Supporting services: limited to National botanical Garden and Chitgar Forest and Eram Zoo, together with local gardens that harbor insects and birds and animals. d.Cultural services: Botanical garden, Amirkabir Dam, Chitgar Forest Park, Chamran Park * Photo is not taken by myself, it'staken from this urls: Amirkabir Dam: http://www.tishineh.com/touritem/723/Karaj-Dam-(-Amir-Kabir-Dam-)
