"The impact of infrastructures such as transportation, water, health, and energy on urban form and architecture is a fact. With the beginning of the 21st century, buildings and cities are becoming physical and software systems in addition to collections of material and shapes. Water, energy, transportation and health infrastructure are thus crucial dimensions for the design of the future sustainable urban systems and the human habitat." New York City, being a hub for transportation, energy, and materials/ information is crucial for the growing of the city. Based on what we learned thus far I think that very few cities; including NYC, are lacking the resources to collect this data and efficiently use it to sort and build the physical characteristic of the city. Currently most cities are focused on being major hubs and profiting the interest. what they should be doing is instead of focusing on the profitability of a space working on building better space for the people who are there.
