The globalization of building construction materials and techniques has undoubtedly altered the way funeral burials being conducted even in the remotest villages in South Sudan. This picture depicts burial ceremony at the outskirts of Rumbek town in which a grave is dug then concrete is used to stabilize it before the casket is lowered in. The top of grave is cemented with a heavy slab. South Sudan imports all its cement and steel from global markets, however; this didn't stop remote villages from altering traditional ways of burials to incorporating globally imported materials.
