1.The dominant fossil fuels used in Singapore are oil and gas. 2.The major part of energy from fossil fuels are used for industries, transportation and non-energy uses. 3.Policies for managing environmental friendly and sustainable energy sources in Singapore is a necessity as resources are scarce in the city state. A few of them are given below Implementation of compulsory solar panels for Industrial buildings and other buildings with coverage more than 0.2 hectares. Promote naturally ventilated buildings. Introduce relevant policies for wise use of materials in building construction and planning of urban premises. Prevent excessive use of glass and concrete in tropical climate to minimize cooling load. Teaching primary students, the value of energy and efficient use of energy for a sustainable future. It will make them question their parents who take overindulges in energy. Teach kids to respect climatic conditions and dress comfortably. Reduce excessive lighting of public streets in Singapore. Introduce solar power for public street lights. Bio wastes from markets and hawker centres can be used for energy production. Introduce taxes on single driver cars in city areas.
