FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"

I took this picture from the pier area in Vancouver, Canada. Visible information: - many high rise buildings - green recreation areas - high rises mainly covered in glass, very modern and making use of natural light - many people walking around - clean air, little pollution Invisible information: - The demographic of this area can be guessed by the spatial planning. No restaurants or other commercial stopping points are in the frame of sight, however, the area is well maintained and there are many pedestrians. This gives the idea that this area of pathways is for the sporty scenery lovers, with walkers, cyclists, and roller skaters sharing the route. At night, lights illuminate the path to maintain the feeling of safety for the sporty. - Building occupancy is not represented by the picture, however, like in many high-class societies and up-scale residences, most of the buildings are empty on a daily basis, few are filled with permanent residents. Instead many are secondary-homes by people who live elsewhere and wanted to invest money in real-estate. Just out of view in the picture, are many boat homes, which are no longer sea worthy but instead have been converted into permanent residences for those who wanted to live on the sea front but could not afford the apartments. The authorities should introduce regulations in order to ensure that a large percent of the high-rise buildings are accommodated by permanent residents so that the pier does not get overloaded with boat houses, losing it's initial prupose.
