FC-01x Future Cities (Self-Paced) - Exercise 1 : "Making the Invisible - Visible"
Uploaded on 2017-05-11 by Yves Silva
This photo was taken on a Sunday in Mexico City showing "El Castillo de Chapultepec" in the back and quite some people crossing "Juventud Heroica" Avenue, which connects the Chapultepec forest and "Paseo de la Reforma", one of the most important avenues in the city. From this perspective, I think we can get two pieces of invisible information: 1. A lot of the families that live in the city have a chance to hang out only on Sunday, which causes aglommeration in the most important parts of the city, like the place seen in the photograph. 2. Mexico City has a lot of historical places that can be used to attract more tourism and make the city even more beautiful. I will give a recommendation for the solution of the piece number 1: I think the government could use this information to create more dynamic and "walkable" spaces all over the city and enhancing the transport routes in order to do the city more livable and its citizens happier.
